(sorry this is a long one)
So I have just come back from an awesome weekend away at Tui Ridge Park in Rotorua for The Salvation Army’s Midland divisions youth councils.
On the Saturday we played a game called Bigger and Better. Now the aim of the games was to trade an item with members of the public for another item that was bigger and better. my group started of with a container of bubble mixture worth $2.
So we drove from the Camp to go to Rotorua. On the way Jarrad from Napier said that his goal was to come back with a sheep, this seemed like a crazy goal so at that point we just continued on with the game. it was 1o’clock and we had to be back at camp by 5 o’clock so there was no real rush.
Ill quickly go through all the trades we made.
We traded the bubbles for a small bottle of oil for hair and nails worth $4
We traded the oil for a bigger bottle of body oil worth $7
We traded The body oil for 3 fresh loaves of break worth around $17
We traded the Bread For 2 of Stephanie Mayer’s New books Worth $27 each
From here we split into two groups with the different books.
Group 1 Traded the book for a Batman Bluray DVD worth $30
Then traded the DVD for a Very nice pet fish valued at $40-50
Group 2 Tried to trade the book for something but was given 4 surf DVD’s to add to the collection.
Then traded the book for a Table lamp worth $45
The two groups then joined back together. On the drive back to Tui Ridge Park we stopped in at A farm to ask the owner if he would like to trade one of his sheep. He declined the offer because all of his sheep had lambs.
We on to the next farm with sheep. This is when we got really exited. the owner was very happy to trade one of his sheep with us!!
We named it bubbles.
Driving back to camp from there I was talking to Jarrad and the quote that kept being said was “Life Follows Your Expectations”
After this experience, I will not doubt that.

Empty your rubbish bin.
Something we do when we notice it getting full, It’s just something we do. But what about if you don’t have that sight to remind you, it will fill up and smell.
The same with life, if you don’t have constant reminders, then the trash in your life will build up and slow you down. We need to get rid of it.
What made me think of this was the trouble I have been having with the macs at school. I was trying to upload photos for my photography portfolio but the schools server just looked at me, laughed and said NO! I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working. I had deleted all of my old photos to make room for the new ones.
There it was. looking at me on the desktop. The rubbish bin. It was loaded up with all of the old photos I had thrown away for the new ones. Sounds a bit like life. We toss things aside when we need room for the latest and greatest.
It’s any easy thing to forget to do. But if we forget to do it in our lives, it has an effect. Think of what everyone sees. Do they see a person holding on to things in their life, or someone who is free?
